ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Joseline Koeneman

Background

Creativity and design are a common thread in the life and work of Joseline Koeneman (1978). After completing two art studies, at Sint Lucas Ghent (Belgium) and the Royal Academy in The Hague (the Netherlands), Joseline has worked as a designer and Art Director for various companies, while also working as an independent artist. Artistic value is leading in all her artworks. Art is indispensable; it has the power to make people think, to evoke new worlds or to provide new and different insights. For Joseline, art is a form of education, research, story-telling, gaining insight, reflection, inspiration, development and personal growth.

Style

Joseline’s goal is to express life in all its purity. Pure, clean and minimalist are leading in her artworks, marked by their clear architecture and graphical elements. Her artworks are characterised by clear forms in curved and straight lines in bright colours. She creates her art using a range of materials and techniques. Steel, polymers and screen printing give Joseline the opportunity to express the purity of love, sorrow, union and loneliness. Screen printing offers her endless opportunities to experiment and capture pure and clean emotions.
