Paris Proof is a rusty, fragile interpretation of the Earth, where parts of the world map have been eroded and lost. The circular steel plate is perforated and corroded, evoking a sense of decay and destruction. The artwork symbolizes the impact of climate change, the depletion of natural resources, and human negligence on our planet.
The title Paris Proof refers to the Paris Agreement and its goals to limit global warming. The piece seems to carry a confrontational message: if we do not take action, our world will quite literally crumble. The choice of rusty steel reinforces this sense of impermanence, as do the rough, unfinished edges, reminiscent of a world gradually disappearing. It invites the viewer to reflect on the state of the Earth and our responsibility to prevent further damage.
